I always believe the business works the way it started and its principles. They have their soul somewhere hiding everywhere in their ideas. The first thing they work on is their product and next comes is the marketing and sales. Every business has its ideas and models to drive sales. In this digital era, even ways to market their product also got diversified. Marketing ideas are not just to bring customers and also have more responsibility than we think.

Diversified ways of marketing can be included into two types Pull and Push marketing. The way they market their products and ideas is already born when the business begins itself. Some of them work on the moment and use the time to grow. On the other hand, some use time as a weapon to scale their business.

Companies take the lead in their niche to pull customers towards them. In most cases, when you need to lead your niche, you need better strategies, establishing crucial distribution partnerships, making early investments in manufacturing and brand-building, and developing innovative product features. As far as companies concern the numbers should speak for themselves to pull the customers.
For example, Nokia used all the techniques which we discussed in a proper way that gave them big success for their Nokia 1100 model mobiles in India, But what happened to Nokia now?

There are some stories whose intent is to pull customers towards them but ended in tragedy. Simply, Tata's Nano car shook Tatas brand. Tata Nano was marketed as 'çheapest car' in India it is believed that the car is a symbol of pride and luxury. If they marketed as the ''most affordable car in India the game may be changed. They may need marketing just to get a primary set of customers. It is tough to overcome static friction.

I believe this is the problem in the pull marketing business may not sense they are getting defeated. Investment in people is difficult to judge; every company claims to have the best talent. But when it comes to distribution most, of them, fails. Even if we pull our customers towards our brand, our distributors and final retailers play a key role. Customer expectations are more evolved. Their expectation should be satisfied. 

In my opinion, Push and pull marketing is when you order food in Zomato or swiggy you may see many promoted deals of big restaurants. But when I see some random small hotel which visited earlier, they expanded the business online I get a smile on my face I just got pulled by them to order food. This is really what Pull marketing is.
